The Empire Web Series Story

The Empire, a period drama set in the time of the Mughal invasion in India, will be released this week. Backed by Emmay Entertainment [Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani], it is directed by Mitakshara Kumar, former assistant of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The effect is quite visible in the way the Empire looks.

Because there is enough grandeur and scale on the basis of the promo. Apart from this, it also has an interesting ensemble cast that includes Dino Morea, Shabana Azmi, Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Seal and Drashti Dhami.

The web series will air on Disney+Hotstar, and is expected to be another entertaining drama for the OTT platform, just as the second season of Applause Entertainment’s City of Dreams came out recently.

Not many such epic dramas are made for the small screen and Empire may give others a chance to follow, if the end result is exciting and entertaining.

The Empire is based on the book “Empire of the Mughals” by Alex Rutherford. The book discusses in detail about Babur’s childhood to his youth and his entry into India, the establishment of the Mughal Empire. After Babur, the tales of Aurangzeb are in the book. Since the series is based on the book, and the protagonist in the book is a Mughal.

Naturally, Babar appears like a hero in the story of coming out of Afghanistan in the opposite condition and creating an empire. This is also a fact of history. Babar’s bravery, leadership ability, fighting skills etc. are praised.

In the medieval period, Babur laid the foundation of such a sultanate, which later ruled most of the country for the longest time till the arrival of the British. In the political system of that period, the way warriors were involved in mutual looting, struggle and oppression – Babur also did the same.

But it is also a fact that Babur was an attacker and in order to build an empire, he fought dreadful battles. He is also accused of converting with the help of sword, destroying Hindu temples and historical places. In history, these things are accused of deliberately not paying attention. At present, these reasons are important behind the opposition of Mughals and Babur.

The Empire is the story of becoming an empire. The warrior Babur is the hero of the story. Naturally, there is a saga of his achievements in this. The hero of the story is either Babur or Mughal.

And this is the reason why those opposing the Mughals on historical grounds are seeing the glorification of the Mughals in The Empire. Kunal Kapoor played the role of Babar in The Empire. Shabana Azmi is in the role of Daulat Begum.

Daulat Begum monitors Babur in a way. Drashti Dhami has played the role of Babur’s sister. Rahul Dev is in the role of Wazir Khan. Dino Morea plays the role of Mohammad Shaybani. In fact, Mohammed Shaybani is the villain of the first season of The Empire who appears to be a conspirator, oppressor and savage against the hero Babar.
