Shardul Thakur Career

Shardul Thakur was practicing but he was not getting a chance to see the performance. Then in the year 2012, he played the first match of the first class for Mumbai against Rajasthan in Jaipur. Shardul’s performance here was nothing special, he took 4 wickets for 82 runs in four matches.

In the Ranji tournament of 2013 – 14, he performed better, taking 26 wickets giving only 27 runs in 6 matches. Seeing this great performance of his, he got a chance to play Vijay Hazare Trophy in the year 2014. In the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy tournament, he took 8 wickets against Saurashtra and led Mumbai to the winner’s title.

IPL 2015 selection

Shardul Thakur’s performance in domestic matches made headlines and for the 2015 IPL, Shardul was bought by Kings 11 Punjab for 20 lakhs. But he got very few chances to play, he played the first match of IPL career against Delhi Daredevils in which he took 1 wicket for 38 runs in 4 overs.

After this, Shardul was bought by Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017 and in the year 2018 he was included in his team by Chennai Super Kings and still he is playing for Chennai Super Kings.

Debut in International Cricket

Shardul Thakur was included in the Indian team in international cricket in 2016 for the series against West Indies but he did not get a chance to play. In 2017 Shardul made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka and in 2018 he made his T20 International debut against South Africa.

In 2018, Shardul Thakur played the Nidahas Trophy against Sri Lanka, in which he took 4 wickets for just 27 runs in a match and was the best performance of his career
