Khiladi Movie is an Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Ramesh Varma, who co-produced it with Satyanarayana Koneru under A Studios. The film stars Ravi Teja in a double role alongside Arjun Sarja, Unni Mukundan, Meenakshi Choudhary and Dimple Hayati.
Initially scheduled to release on 28 May 2021, it has been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The soundtrack and score of the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The film is now scheduled to release on 11 February 2022.
Ravi Teja manages to bring out the charm in a character that hardly has any. He bounces through his role, even if it’s awkward (and uncomfortable), to see him romance women who are clearly much younger than him. Dimple, Meenakshi and Anasuya find characters that allow them to perform but directors keep circling them to belly dance in sequined shorts or to be a helpful but cool sidekick.
These women deserved better. Rest of the cast including Rao Ramesh and Venela Kishore make their presence felt. And with all that said and done, the player has to be as self-aware as he is in a special action sequence featuring Arjun and Gandhi at the end. Some clever writing would have saved the day as well.

Khiladi Movie Story
Mohan Gandhi (Ravi Teja) steals the money container. Police officer Arjun Bharadwaj (Arjun Sarja) along with the opponents begin their search for the container. Mohan asks them to bid adieu to own the container. Amidst all the high-octane action sequences and chase-games, Mohan romances his female lead, Meenakshi.
Khiladi is a great thriller starring Ravi Teja, Meenakshi Choudhary and Dimple Hayati in lead roles. Arjun Sarja, Unni Mukundan, Nikitin Dheer and Anasuya Bharadwaj play important roles in the film. Khiladi is the second collaboration between Ravi Teja and director Ramesh Verma, who gave the blockbuster Veere in 2011.
Jointly produced by Pen Movies and A Studios LLP, Khiladi’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Cinematographers Sujit Vasudev and GK Vishnu and editor Amar Reddy Kudumala make up the technical team.
Director Ramesh Verma tries to pull off an ‘Abbas-Mustan’ with Khiladi – as in, he will fill the film with nonsensical dialogues, plot twists that have no logical meaning, beautiful women grooving to the songs, the original A lot of style on the essence from. They expect you to have such a ball calling
Gandhi a ‘Khiladi’, while CBI officer Arjun Bhardwaj (Arjun Sarja), police officer Jairam (Sachin Khedekar), home minister Guru Singham (Mukesh Rishi), criminal David (Thakur Anoop Singh) ) and Bala Singham (Nikitin Dheer) hot follows on his heels to look like the Joker.
On the other hand, Unni Mukundan is also in this story, he plays a co-convict named Ramakrishna, but the less said about his plot, the better. But nothing like this happens. And the core plots of it all is a container with obscene money brought from Italy that everyone is trying to find.
The film tells the story of Mohan Gandhi (Ravi Teja), an innocent man facing trial for the murder of his beloved little family. Criminologist Pooja (Meenakshi Choudhary) meets him in prison to submit a thesis and goes on a self-righteous journey to free him. Or at least get him out on bail. But when there are high stakes, lies, deceit and lots of money involved – it is clear that nothing is as it seems.
The first part of the player walks through the gallery and even tests your patience. Too many bandwagon songs, a clichéd love story, jokes that hardly make you laugh, diluting the gravity of the story that lingers beneath the surface. And while the director prefers the strange narrative of starting the story with Gandhi,
It leaves the audience impatient whenever there is an entire love track with Dimple Hayati that focuses more on her body and her character traits. But less – screen. But just before the interval things go well and Ramesh manages to pull the carpet from under you. Does it make any logical sense when you start connecting the dots? No way. Is it high on style? Sure. And now that the story has come into its own, it gives hope for a better narrative in the second part.
