Abdul Kalam was the eleventh and first non-politician President of India, who got this post because of his special contribution in technical and science. He was an engineer and scientist, Kalam ji was also the President of India till 2002-07.

Abdul kalam birth and educational life
APJ Abdul Kalam ji was born on 15 October 1931 in Dhanushkodi village, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu to a fisherman family, he was a Tamil Muslim. His full name is Dr. Avul Pakir Jainullabdin Abdul Kalam. His father’s name was Jainulabdeen.
He belonged to a middle class family. His father used to give his boat to fishermen and drive home. Child Kalam too was taught to struggle a lot for his education. He used to distribute newspapers from house to house and used to pay his school fees with those money.

Kalam ji’s career started
In 1958, Kalam G. D.T.D. and started working as Senior Scientist in Technical Center in P. While living here, he led the scientific team prepared for prototype hover craft. Early in his career, Abdul Kalamji designed a small helicopter for the Indian Army.
In 1962, Abdul Kalamji left defense research and started working in India’s Space Research. Between 1962 and 82, he held several posts related to this research. In 1969, Kalam ji became the project head of India’s first SLV-3 (Rohini) at ISRO.
